Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up in Kampala and begin the road journey southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, enjoy a stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and a short cultural experience. Continue to Mbarara Town for lunch before heading straight to Bwindi. Relax upon arrival and soak in the beauty of the mountain rainforest. Overnight stay at Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Start the day with a hearty breakfast to prepare for gorilla trekking. Arrive at the ranger station before 8:00 am for registration and a briefing on safety and gorilla behavior. Your guided trek through the dense forest will begin, searching for the habituated mountain gorilla families. Trekking may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on gorilla locations.

Once found, you will spend one hour observing the gorillas, watching their social interactions, playful behavior, and gentle movements. Every minute of this encounter is truly unforgettable.

In the afternoon, you can opt for a guided nature walk along the Munyaga River trail, leading to three scenic waterfalls surrounded by epiphytic ferns, orchids, and butterflies, or take a village walk to see local life and cultural practices. Overnight at Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community Bandas with full board.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart early for Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha Sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Along the way, spot wildlife including hippos, buffaloes, and topis. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and relax while enjoying scenic views of the park. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Hostel of the Institute of Ecology with full board.

Day 4: Game Drive and Return to Kampala

After breakfast, embark on a short game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look for elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos, and other savannah wildlife along the way. Begin the drive back to Kampala, stopping for lunch in Mbarara or Masaka. Arrive in Kampala by late afternoon, completing your unforgettable 4-day gorilla and wildlife safari in Uganda.
