4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Dianne Fossey hiking tour
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali town to Volcanoes National Park
Today you will have breakfast and there after you will set off for Volcanoes National Park which is about 80kms 2 hours and 20 minutes drive. On arrival you will have lunch and then visit the twin lakes Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo and the Virunga mountain chain. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking in the Volcanoes National Park
You will have breakfast at the lodge and with parked lunch you will go for a briefing at the park head quarters, and then set of for gorilla tracking. This may take one to 8 hours depending on the movement. When you get to the gorillas in Rwanda, you will be allowed to be with them for one hour. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Dianne Fossey Trekking
Take breakfast and then start the hiking of Karisimbi Volcano up to the Dianne Fossey grave. While here, you will learn much about this industrious lady, her research work about the mountain gorillas and her efforts in conserving them. Diana Fossey’s grave tombs are nestled between the beautiful volcanic peaks of Karisimbi and Bishoke. After trekking have a brief excursion to the spectacular panoramic views of the Twin Lakes; Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo and the Virunga mountain chain. Then return to the lodge for a rest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 4: Departure
Breakfast and transfer to Kigali, visit the genocide memorial site and other interesting places. The Genocide Memorial sites demonstrate the remains of the infamous 1994 genocide in Rwanda that claimed close to a million lives. Have lunch and later transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
